I would suggest getting ADATA UV128 which performs way better and at the same or lower price, November 18, 2014

This review is from: Sony 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (USM32X/B) (Personal Computers)
For the others suggesting this is not USB 3.0 they are incorrect the port is USB 3.0 and the drive is recognized as a USB 3.0 device. However, even though a drive is USB 3.0 capable does not mean it will be fast enough to see USB 3.0 speeds. This device has miserably slow writes. Using Crystal disk mark sequential writes at 100MB are around 20 MB/s, many USB 2.0 drives are faster than this. I needed a device that can write at least 40MB/s consistently, and this does not perform well enough.

The device is made entirely out of plastic, and does not have an indicator light.

I would suggest getting ADATA UV128 which performs way better and at the same or lower price.

Great capacity, abysmal write speeds., November 18, 2014

After seeing sub-MB write speeds to this drive, I decided to benchmark it. Around 120MB/s read speed and 40MB/s write speed… with large files. With small files (usually what you are working with) it drops down to around 5MB/s read and 2MB/s write.

So be warned, this drive is for transferring large files, like pictures or movies. Definitely skip if you want to use this for anything else.

What a huge disappointment. It works, December 26, 2014

What a huge disappointment. It works, but it’s not even close to 3.0. I consistently get between 5-8mb/sec write speeds. That’s not even in the same league as a legitimate 3.0. Will NOT buy any more Sony usb drives. Save yourself some time and go with PNY or Silicon Power brands.
